I’m Ann-Marie Shepherd, a licensed acupuncturist and Fertility Support Practitioner offering acupuncture treatment in Derby, Derbyshire and the surrounding area.  With over 12 years of clinical experience in general and fertility acupuncture, more recently I have moved to specialise in more complex fertility cases.  This is an area of passionate interest for me which brings together my background in Immunology and my later move towards natural health. I am a Fertility Support Trained practitioner, having completed the Advanced Diploma in Fertility Acupuncture, the gold standard of fertility training for acupuncturists, with the renowned fertility support practitioner, teacher, and mentor, Naava Carman.  Members of this advanced group of practitioners place great emphasis on ongoing continuing professional development, with leading experts in the area of reproductive medicine.

I help you to take control of your fertility journey, guiding you and providing support whatever fertility challenges you may be facing, including unexplained infertility,  both primary and secondary, and recurrent miscarriage.  I also provide ongoing support with pregnancy acupuncture.

I have always had a passionate interest in holistic health and wellbeing; my mother, Ann Dickinson, ran an integrated Osteopathy and Acupuncture practice for more than 30 years and was the inspiration for my career change. Initially I pursued a scientific career, having gained a Master’s degree in Immunology and Oncology, and worked within the pharmaceutical sector. This background has fuelled my interest in clinical research and the evidence base for the effectiveness of acupuncture, which is becoming ever more compelling.
